Open House Milano begins its second decade with the theme Milano dall’alto (Milan from Above). This year’s edition features eighty sites across Milan. Highlights include Casa De Pas, a restored 1970s design apartment, the creative community of MULINO Factory, the immersive MuaMua Hotel, and special openings inside Torre Velasca, Casa Girola, and the Teatro alla Scala workshops. Alongside the architecture programme, the festival explores themes of shared living, urban transformation, design, and sustainability.

The motto of this year's edition of Open House Gdynia is Phenomenal!, honoring the 100th anniversary of the city and an attempt to decode the phenomenon of Gdynia. Festival participants are invited to explore almost a hundred programme offerings for the centenary of Gdynia, a journey through ten decades of a port city that continues to transform. The central theme of the Festival is the City, understood both as a social community and as a collection of micro-communities formed around architecture and neighborhood life.

This is the third consecutive year of Open House Bern, with more than 70 buildings across the city opening to the public over the course of the weekend and offering fascinating insights into the properties and their uses. The wide-ranging programme will feature expert-led tours, guided visits, neighborhood walks, children’s workshops, and more. In addition, the festival expands beyond Bern for the first time with a pop-up event in Biel/Bienne by opening ten selected buildings across the bilingual city of Biel.

Open House Torino returns for its ninth edition with more than 170 extraordinary places opening to the public across the city and beyond. Highlights include industrial lofts such as Loft BY8 and B13 Home, post-industrial regeneration projects like Terrazza Dora and Sando68, and landmark openings including the Palazzo della Regione Piemonte with access to its panoramic terrace. The festival also expands beyond the city centre to Settimo Torinese, Collegno, and Chieri, while guided tours and special events explore everything from historic tram routes to the hidden waterways of Turin.

The ninth edition of Open House Brno will feature more than 130 buildings, including the modern office complexes Vlněna, Ponávka, and Spielberk Office Centre by CTP. New additions to this year’s programme include the Supreme Court of the Czech Republic. 
Part of the programme is the Visual Stories competition for visual artists. Another new feature of this year’s edition is the festival’s expansion to Boskovice, in collaboration with architect Petr Ondráček and the Museum of the Boskovice Region.

The theme of this year's edition of Open House Rome is City in Flux, exploring how greenery as infrastructure can connect parts of the city. Highlights include Rome's historic Semenzaio, where all the plant species used throughout the city are cultivated. A parallel  theme, Feminine Rome, celebrates the role of women designers in Rome through dedicated events, such as the Nomentano Market, designed by Elena Luzzatto, the first woman to graduate in architecture in Italy in 1925. Other highlights include the beautiful Biblioteca di Pio IX, Palazzo Wedekind, and the recently renovated Forte Aurelia.

Open House Vilnius returns with this year’s theme Voice of the City, inviting visitors to discover both iconic landmarks and rarely accessible spaces that reveal unexpected layers of Vilnius. The festival programme features more than 70 venues – from buildings and interiors to green spaces and creative studios – offering the chance to experience architecture from different perspectives. This edition introduces 12 new venues and expands beyond traditional architecture tours with guided walks through urban green spaces, boat tours on the Neris River, and visits to active construction sites.

This year’s edition of Open House Praha places a strong focus on the future of historic buildings, adaptive reuse, and the changing identity of the city. Highlights include the Savarin Riding Hall, the ongoing transformation of Praha-Bubny Station into a Centre of Memory and Dialogue, and  contemporary developments Fragment, Lihovar, and Mint Living. There also is an extensive programme of talks, walks, screenings, and community events, alongside dedicated activities to ensure the festival remains accessible to children, international visitors, and people with different accessibility needs.

For the first time in Türkiye, the Open House festival makes its debut in Istanbul, inviting the public to explore the city’s layered urban fabric and rich cultural life.
Taking place across Beyoğlu and Büyükada, the largest of the Princes’ Islands, Open House Istanbul opens the doors to nearly 40 buildings —from private apartments and historic mansions to universities, art studios, architecture offices, and hotels—offering a rare glimpse into spaces that are usually closed to the public. For four days, Istanbul opens itself, inviting you to experience the city from hills to shores.

This year's edition of Open House Basel includes 115 buildings across Basel and neighbouring areas in France and Germany. Highlights include contemporary projects such as the Roche office tower Bau 2, Biozentrum, and Codeck, a former office building transformed into housing and music spaces. Visitors can also explore innovative developments like LYSP8 in Lysbüchel, built using sustainable “Design for Disassembly” principles.
Open House Basel PLUS+ expands the programme with talks, tours, and exhibitions, while Open House KIDS offers a playful way for families to discover architecture.

Open House Lisboa returns for its fifteenth edition with a fresh perspective on the city, this time through the lens of food. From kitchens and markets to factories, community gardens, and private homes, the festival opens doors to spaces that shape everyday life but are rarely seen. Highlights include behind the scenes access to locations such as the Pastéis de Belém factory, the historic Mercado da Ribeira, and Cervejaria Trindade. There are also curated urban walks tracing food systems across the city, hands on activities for families, and a diverse Plus programme featuring exhibitions, workshops, and performances.

In its ninth edition, Open House Rosario expands its focus beyond the city centre, broadening the map to include new districts and peripheral areas. As one of Greece’s leading architectural institutions, Open House Athens promotes architecture and understanding of the built environment. This year’s theme, Emerging City highlights new architects, recent projects, innovative adaptive reuse, and the evolving urban identity of modern metropolises.

The seventeenth edition of Open House Slovenia explores the theme All Measures of Architecture, inviting the public to engage with architecture through movement, light, material, and everyday use, highlighting its role as a shared social value. The inaugural edition of Open House Nicosia will offer guided tours of architecturally significant buildings alongside a curated programme of parallel activities across Nicosia.

40 buildings will open their doors to the public, transforming the city into a living museum of architecture and showcasing its diverse urban fabric, from historic residences and heritage landmarks to contemporary offices and cultural spaces. The festival is complemented by thematic architectural walks, an architectural presentation, and a photography competition.

Over the 48-hour weekend and a month-long programme, more than 100 rarely accessible places open their doors across Taipei, inviting the public to rediscover the relationship between architecture and everyday life. Highlights include guided routes through New Garden Village; Dadaocheng Old Houses; and the Chengzhong (Old City) district; as well as the Asia Four City Forum connecting Taipei with Osaka, Seoul, and Hong Kong.

The theme of this edition of Open House Thessaloniki is “Future Heritage: today’s architecture, tomorrow’s legacy”. Over one weekend, the programme will offer opportunities to explore more than 70 buildings and join free guided tours led by volunteers, alongside parallel events such as Made in Thessaloniki, Open Walk, Open School, and Open Office, as well as creative contests Open Photo and Open Your Map. The programme also includes a special focus on the city’s industrial heritage, access to restored landmarks and innovative contemporary projects, and a closing celebration that brings the public together around Thessaloniki’s evolving architectural identity.

Over 20 buildings are participating for the first time, including Osaka City Hall and cultural facilities designed by architect Toyo Ito. Open House Gdańsk launches its eight edition in the seaside district of Brzeźno. The programme takes a closer look at the area’s unique identity, between its past as a resort, its present community, and its relationship with the Baltic Sea. Workshops will invite participants to experience the district with all the senses, from sound walks to spatial planning sessions, while open meetings spark conversations about Brzeźno’s history and future. Architectural tours will open the doors of fascinating buildings across the district, offering fresh perspectives on coastal life, fishing traditions, and the challenges of seasonal cities.

Marking its 20th edition, Open House Dublin explores the theme Future Heritage and pays homage to O’Connell Street, a place where the past, present and future converge. Highlights include the General Post Office; Dublin Airport’s Old Central Terminal Building; and the French Ambassador’s Residence. The programme also features walking tours, exhibitions, and events at IAF House at Charlemont Square as the festival hub. The festival kicks off with Open House Junior, a weekend of free workshops and events for children, teens, and families, including LEGO-building activities; a creative workshop with artist Asbestos; guided tours of The Ark cultural centre; and Architreks.

More than 40 buildings and sites across the city will open for Open House Tallinn. Highlights include Linnahall; Toompea Castle; the Parliament of Estonia; the revitalised Manufaktuuri Quarter; Kopli Community House; and new state-of-the-art schools like Pelgulinna and Mustamäe State Gymnasiums. The programme also offers thematic walks on heritage, material reuse, and the Štromka neighbourhood; pop-up lectures and discussions; plus family-friendly tours and youth activities. Tours are available in Estonian, English, Russian, and Estonian Sign Language.

The ninth edition of Open House Bilbao will be enriched with new activities throughout the week, aimed at opening up avenues of knowledge around architecture. Some of the activities include a film forum linking architecture with the seventh art; family workshops where children can discover the architecture of their city; a podcast with an audience; and the presentation of one of the city's most ambitious projects: the underground relocation of the large central station.

In the wake of the 2,500th anniversary of the founding of Naples, Open House Napoli’s programme will broaden from the ancient Greek traces of Neapolis to the regeneration projects underway in the outer city. Accessibility and inclusivity will be key topics, as will the vision of architecture as a "political act" in the focus on the prominent Luigi Cosenza with lectures and tours to his buildings and public housing developments. Don't miss the former Fish Market, the first rationalist project in the city; the world-renowned new Chiaia metro station; the neoclassical Palazzo Ruffo della Scaletta; and the urban walk in the Liberty Art Nouveau neighbourhood.

For its first edition, Open House Ticino will open the doors of 62 buildings and spaces, ranging from historic, modern, and contemporary buildings to private apartments, offices, green areas, and public places. The selection aims to showcase the richness and diversity of Ticino's architectural and landscape heritage, from major icons designed by masters such as Botta, Galfetti, Snozzi, or Vacchini, to more recent projects, giving the public the opportunity to discover not only symbolic buildings but also everyday places. Highlights of the edition include, among others, the extraordinary opening of the Home of the Sisters of Charity of the Holy Cross of Ingenbohl, Botta Franscini Building (formerly Gottardo Bank), as well as the Administrative Building 3, the Saleggi-Boschetti river park, and the Teatro dell'Architettura.

Open House Madrid returns for its eleventh edition with more than 140 activities celebrating the city’s architecture, from hidden gems to landmark institutions. Highlights include the Biblioteca Nacional de España, Skylight Madrid, the Instituto del Patrimonio Cultural de España, Casa Palazuelo. This year’s edition also includes a cultural journey to two historic and charming gems of southeastern Madrid, Loeches and Nuevo Baztán, explored through the itinerary Descubre la Alcarria madrileña.

The second edition of Open House Zaragoza returns with a programme of 32 activities. A central feature is the Urban Laboratory at Calle Eduardo Ibarra, which will explore the role of children in shaping public space. Over three collaborative workshops, participants identify spaces of interest, imagine desirable urban futures, and analyse findings, culminating in AI-generated visualisations that create a collection of postcards of Zaragoza’s future. A special activity is the Tranvi-Arq-Movie tram tour, which travels from the north to the south of the city, highlighting notable architectural sites and film locations.

For its tenth edition, Open House Zürich opens over 190 buildings across the city and beyond, with a focus on Dübendorf and Uster. The programme explores sustainability and adaptive reuse, while also showcasing historic villas, modernist homes, and award-winning projects from the Gute Bauten der Stadt Zürich programme. Open House Slovenia will host a minifest this autumn in Ljubljana under the theme Future Heritage. The festival showcases architectural heritage and contemporary sustainable design, with guided tours revealing stories behind Tivoli Castle, Kazina Palace, the refurbished industrial hall L56, the Franciscan Library, and the Vilharia construction site. Participants can also discover Fabiani’s Ljubljana on a guided walk celebrating Max Fabiani’s legacy and explore Plečnik’s public spaces with expert commentary.

The theme of this year's edition of Open House Essen is Future Heritage: The Legacy of Tomorrow. Highlights include the Schaudepot of the Ruhr Museum; the Episcopal General Vicariate, the Creative Cathedral TRUDI; the redesigned Heilig Geist Art Space showing the Erlösung NOW exhibition and the city’s oldest monument, Essen Cathedral. Visitors can also share tea at Ayasofya Mosque and take a silent walk through the UNESCO World Heritage Zollverein with noise-cancelling headphones, allowing for concentrated, quiet exploration.

Open House Helsinki will focus on the city’s waterfronts under the theme Horizon. In collaboration with Helsinki Design Week, the festival explores Helsinki’s 130 km shoreline, an archipelago running from the thickets of Sipoo’s border through the rocky shores of Eastern Helsinki and the urban waterfronts of the city centre. Highlights include Aino Ackté Villa in Laajasalo, the Atlas high-rise in Vuosaari, and the functionalist terminal at Malmi Airport. Guided tours will uncover hidden courtyards in Punavuori and Kalasatama, offering fresh perspectives on architecture and urban planning.

Open House Porto celebrates a decade of existence with a special edition that invites the public to explore more than 70 spaces. Some highlights include the Sonae Tech Hub in Maia, the Monastery of Leça do Balio and Open Sculpture in Matosinhos, the M-odu project at the former Porto slaughterhouse, the Porto University Stadium, and RTP Studios in Vila Nova de Gaia. Visitors can enjoy free expert-led tours, public talks and the new Open Office initiative, offering a glimpse into the workspaces of architects. The programme will also include the Caleidoscópio and Plus initiatives that propose activities open and accessible to all audiences.

Brisbane Open House unveils the biggest programme in five years, unlocking 91 buildings and spaces across the city, including private homes, cutting-edge infrastructure and historic icons. Ten private residences, including Stafford Heights Modern, House for Birdwood and Twin Houses, will offer a rare look at inspiring architecturally designed homes across the city. Other highlights include a behind-the-scenes tour of Brisbane Airport as it celebrates 100 years, first-time access to the heritage listed Milton House and an architectural tour of the cutting-edge Bradbury Park Playscape. A limited number of visitors will also have the rare opportunity to descend 30 metres underground into the Roma Street Cross River Rail site — a once-in-a-lifetime look inside one of Queensland’s most transformative infrastructure projects. Don’t miss twilight talks, guided walks, and the return of PechaKucha Night — plus returning favourites including Newstead House, Centenary Pool, and Government House.

Open House Melbourne returns with nearly 200 buildings and experiences celebrating design, history, and public access. Highlights include the newly opened Port Phillip EcoCentre and the elevated Veloway above the West Gate Tunnel, as well as behind-the-scenes access to the Essendon Fields Airport Terminal and the Werribee Zoo’s vast new elephant habitat. Private homes, including the award-winning Naples St House and Melbourne’s first turnkey Passivhaus, explore sustainable living. Secret histories will be revealed at a series of special events celebrating this year’s theme, “Stories of the City” including an exhibition at Bates Smart Gallery that invites the public to share their own stories of the city.

Open House Praha will have two exciting thematic lines: Schools for Future Generations and Railways. Open House Brno explores the theme Future Heritage, offering over 115 sites that explore how architectural legacies evolve across generations. Special features include tramway tours celebrating architect Bohuslav Fuchs, intergenerational tours led by students and families, and new additions like Lužánky Swimming Stadium and St. Cunigunde’s Pharmacy. Open House Milano returns for its tenth edition and invites the public to explore hidden and extraordinary places across the city. The theme In a Relationship celebrates ten years of connection between architecture and citizens, transforming visits into moments of authentic exchange. This edition highlights the ongoing dialogue between urban spaces, people and communities, strengthening a sense of belonging and encouraging everyone to rediscover Milan as a living and shared city.

Open House Bern will open the doors to over 65 sites in the Swiss capital. Highlights include the ship-like administration building called ‘Titanic 2’, the locomotive depot of the Swiss Federal Railways, the iconic neo-classical Villa Morillon, and the five buildings of the Warmbächli cooperative. Not only are the open houses and parks varied, but the additional programmes are also dedicated to very different topics. The 80 items on the program include seven guided walks, six special events (including a biodiversity tour of Bremgarten cemetery), and four activities for children.

Open House CDMX returns with the theme detonadores de cambio (detonators of change), celebrating architecture that transforms communities and urban life. Over 50 spaces across six city zones will be open to the public, from Iztapalapa and Santa Fe to Azcapotzalco and Xochimilco. Highlights include PILARES Iztapalapa by Rozana Montiel, Casa Estudio Max Cetto, Fundación Casa Wabi Sabino by Alberto Kalach, Centro de la Imagen by Isaac Broid, and the Museo Anahuacalli expansion by Mauricio Rocha.

Accessibility remains central, with tactile tours, sign language interpretation, and relaxed visits for visitors who are neurodivergent, seniors, and families with babies.

Open House Vilnius returns with over 50 architectural sites and four green urban spaces open to the public. Under the theme “Future Heritage,” this edition reflects on which contemporary spaces may become tomorrow’s landmarks. Highlights include the neo-Baroque Vileišiai Palace; the transformed ISM University in the former post office; and the historic Merchants’ Club. For the second year, visitors can step into the studios of 12 architects and planners shaping the city. With new guided tours through gardens and redesigned districts, the festival offers a fresh lens on Vilnius’s evolving architectural and urban identity. Tours are offered in English and Ukrainian at select sites.

Stgo Rural is a special edition of Open House Santago that extends the Open House experience to rural spaces of the Metropolitan Region to showcase the architecture, practices, and landscapes critical to the sustainability of the communities that manage them. OH! Stgo Rural spotlights how rural regions are dynamic spaces undergoing global transformations similar to cities by exploring topics of agricultural production, food security, drinking water supply, energy production, and technological innovation with 30 destinations across 18 communas (boroughs).

This year's theme, Future Heritage – The Architecture of Today, the Heritage of Tomorrow, explores the topic across four categories: Preserved Heritage, which highlights buildings of historical value that maintain their original form; Transformation, focusing on restored or redesigned buildings repurposed for new uses; Sustainable Design, showcasing contemporary buildings that integrate eco-friendly technologies and materials; and Innovation Cluster, which includes modern workspaces that redefine design practices and sustainability. The University of California San Diego, which houses 25,000+ students, will open its theatre district, award-winning life science buildings, a fire station, and more. Mission Hills, a fan-favorite neighborhood known for its stately and unique homes, is also a featured destination.

The 2024 edition of Open House Lagos is underway! Through 1 December explore the role and influence of Women in Art & Design with a range of events.

The festival kicked off on 19 November at University of Lagos with a screening of the documentary ‘Build Something Modern: Irish Contribution To Tropical Modernism in Africa’ followed by a conversation with historian Dr. Lisa Godson and Deputy City Architect of Dublin Owen O’Doherty. It concludes on 1 December, with visits to the boutique ‘Fusion’ in Ikoyi Lagos designed by the architect Françoise Aramide Akinosho.
